Slippery Elm, also known as red elm or Indian elm, is a tree native to the central and Eastern states of America and Ontario, Canada, with a distinctive dark reddish-brown bark that has long been used to support digestive health.

In traditional Western herbal medicine, Slipper Elm Bark is used to relieve mild gastrointestinal tract inflammation and assist with recovery from illness and as a nutritive tonic. It is also used as a demulcent which soothes irritated tissues.
